“An H-E-B employee has gathered more than 3,800 signatures on an online petition criticizing the retailer’s sickness policy, saying new changes result in workers being “punished for getting sick.”

“The employee created a petition on Jan. 12 for both employees and customers to sign after she said she tested positive for the coronavirus but was asked to work anyway.”

“The disgruntled employee has created an online petition to ‘expand the list of approved excuses for absences to include legitimate illness.’ “

“Other contemporary workers’ rights initiatives include Coworker.org, the Fight for $15, One Fair Wage, the National Domestic Workers Alliance, and 9 to 5 is still reaching out to women in every state.”
